FAQ

Q: What key switches are recommended?
A: Version 3 uses a dual footprint for either Cherry MX RGB or Kailh Choc V1 switches. These are linked in the BOM.

Q: Can I use other keyswitches?
A: Yes - as long as they have the same footprint as Cherry MX or Kailh Choc V1 switches with a window/opening for the LED to shine through.

Q: What about Kaihl Choc V2 switches?
A: Choc V2 are not compatible. They have a different footprint.

Q: What about recommended Keycaps?
A: These are listed in the BOM. You want an MX stem cap or one for Choc v1, with translucency or a window for the LED to shine through.

Q: Does this project require soldering?
A: Yes. Thru-hole soldering is required (potentiometers, encoder, and switches)

Q: Can I get the Gerbers or order the pcbs myself?
A: No. The hardware is not open source.
